After having graduated from the Royal College of Music in composition and orchestration, Nicholas Dodd first acted as a music producer, owning a major recording studio in London. It was at those days that he met composer David Arnold, a fateful encounter. They first worked together on the British movie The young Americans (1993), followed immediately by the big success Star Gate, which brought the duo to Hollywood. Meanwhile, Dodd’s feature film credit list is extensive, including Independence Day, Godzilla,Lethal Weapon Four, The Mummy and Inkheart. Furthermore, Nicholas Dodd has orchestrated and conducted all James Bond soundtracks since 1997: Tomorrow Never Dies, The World is not Enough, Die another Day, Casino Royale, and Quantum of Solace.

Recent projects include the composition of the scores to Renaissance, a sci-fi thriller set in Paris 2054 and Treasure Island, directed by Alain Berberan, which was nominated for a Grammy.

Orchestras, which Nicholas Dodd has conducted in studios and concert halls include the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, London Philharmonic Orchestra, London Symphony Orchestra, Philharmonia Orchestra, North Carolina Symphony Orchestra, Houston Symphony Orchestra, and RTE orchestra. Dodd’s various concert hall performances include several concerts of music by John Barry. In 2007 Nicholas Dodd conducted Barry’s music at the Royal Festival Hall with the London Philharmonic Orchestra, followed by Paris and with the RTE Orchestra in Ireland in 2008.

Also, Dodd recorded the Ten Tenors in arrangements of works by John Barry. Other projects include the orchestration and conducting of the score to The Chronicles of Narnia–The Voyage of the Dawn Treader as well as James Cameron’s popular science-fiction-adventure Avatar, and an album for Shirley Bassey.
